30 May

May has been my most enjoyable month of racing so far.
May has brought the hiller stage races which I enjoy most, we started off with Ronde du Bassin a 3 stage 2 day race near Lyon, stage 1 was 111km of lumpy Terrain I missed the small break away but managed to forge a chasing group of 16 riders over the steep climbs sadly the race was cut 1 lap short with my lack of French I was unaware till 50 meters to to 😂 just missing out on a top 20, stage 2 was a team time trial pleased with  how we did as a team without ever practising, stage 3 was a hard course made worse by the strong winds and rain witch whittled down the bunch and I managed to make up a few places on gc finishing in 14th overall and 7th in the white jersey.
Tour de Ambert a very mountainous 2 day 3 stage race, stage 1 didn’t start of well I had a few problems in the first half of the race leading to me being out the back but I fought back to the reduced bunch just missing out on a top 20 at the finish but coming in on the same time as the winner, stage 2 was a hilly time trial I have been struggling to perform on my time trial bike recently so I just wanted to reduce my losses coming in 38th, stage 3 the most exciting stage with 4 big cols the weather conditions made it a hard stage with torrential rain causing lots of crashes, but I managed to position well and stay away from the carnage, getting 21st in gc out of 130.
I really enjoyed my racing in may and have had a mid season break to re charge and get ready for the last big block of racing.
A huge thank you to pedal potential and my other sponsors as it couldn’t be done without them.
